What are SPARX?
When we were trying to figure out how to showcase ad space on our homepage we couldn’t go with the idea of exchanging Pixels for dollars because with today’s high resolution monitors there are varying amounts of pixels per square inch depending on the monitor that you are using. So we came up with SPARX as a way to promote ad space in return for donations. SPARX is an acronym for Specific Pixel ARray for Xenia, with Xenia being the Greek philosophy of Generosity, Courtesy and Hospitality. 100 SPARX fill up a box, therefore a $100 minimum donation is required. Any smaller advertisement would not be functional or aesthetically appealing.
What percentage of the profits from my donation actually goes to the charity I choose?
ALL of it! That’s 100%!! The purpose of this website is to put as much money as possible into the hands of the people who need it most.
How long will it take to get my image and link uploaded?
One week or less.
Why is there a minimum donation?
A minimum donation is required because we feel that any donation smaller would not provide enough space on the homepage to have your image and link visible. We recognize that every penny counts when giving to charity, however for the homepage this would be impracticable as it would be neither aesthetically appealing, nor functional.
Why isn’t my favorite charity on billiondollarcause.com?
If you have a favorite charity that’s not listed, contact that charity and tell them to email us with their request to be listed along with the other charities already on board and we will be happy to add them. Keep in mind that we will only support top tier, notable charities that make a profound difference for the world we live in and have administration costs that are conservative or below normal for the charity world.
How long will billiondollarcause.com be active?
The website will be active until our goal of one billion dollars is reached and we have achieved the Guinness World Record. After that the site will still be up and kept up as a time capsule of what can happen when people come together for a greater purpose.
Why would I donate here when I can just give straight to the charity?
Please Do donate directly to the charities! That’s one of the main reasons we are here, which is to generate awareness for giving to charities and if you go straight to the charity then we have fulfilled our goal! We believe that billiondollarcause.com is an incentive to donate for some people who normally would not have. By donating here you also get a lot in return. You get Advertising, Marketing, Worldwide Recognition for making a difference and increased traffic to your website, facebook page, MySpace, YouTube or Twitter account.
